Fuel Cell Market

The development of the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is approaching the Mass-Production stage. And this affects CeTech to focus more on consumer product, car industry and auxiliary power applications. We invested huge resources to develop a different type of Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) and a tailor-made product within a short time to compress the development period.

Consumer electronic products, wireless and mobile communications have become mainstream in the market. With more 3G mobile phones and wireless Vista built-in laptops, which consume/demand high power, the battery charging time has become a key issue. Consumers are always expecting their products to be more human friendly and with multiple functions; however, the current power storage system is insufficient to provide a break-through solution. Fuel Cell technology is able to offer a complete solution.

In the car industry, because of the controversial global warming issue and soaring fuel price, many countries have started developing new generation vehicles. Honda, one of the most famous car manufacturers, has launched a new hydrogen-energy based automobile. The California, USA, government is also active in building the related infrastructure to help the fuel cell based driving. New vehicles equipped with fuel cells are estimated to be widely used in five to ten years.

In terms of auxiliary power, PEMFC has the most mature technique compared to other fuel cell systems with 10,000W. The main reason is because of a lower reactive temperature (around 100 degrees centigrade). Moreover, this method is also more suitable for portable electronic devices. In some countries with spacious territory like the US and Canada, the electrical infrastructure does not easily reach all regions, and very high building cost will be necessary. The PEMFC type auxiliary power is the solution for these governments and is expected to replace some traditional electricity generators.
